The screw is made of A2 stainless steel. The screw has a milling function at the beginning of the thread, which eliminates the need for pre-drilling (except for exotic wood species), and a top clamping thread which generates a high clamping force to help straighten curved boards. Once in place, the clamping thread helps to hold the board in place, allowing a smaller head shape with the same or greater gripping power than conventional deck screws.
The head of the screw is cylindrical with milling ribs underneath, allowing a nice finish without chipping. One advantage of the cylindrical head is that the boards do not split at the ends.
